According to Hindu legends, the temple was initially built by Pandavas and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva. KEDARNATH is a Hindu temple (shrine) dedicated to Shiva. Located on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river, Kedarnath is located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open to the general public only between the months of April (Akshaya Tritiya) and November (Kartik Purnima, the autumn full moon).

Brief Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi

  • AC Bus to Rishikesh (Departure 9 pm)

 

Day 2

Rishikesh

  • A Short Briefing Session

  • 16km River Rafting at Rishikesh

  • Visit all Famous Temples

  • Ram Jhula & Lakshman Jhula (Suspension Bridge)

  • Evening Ganga Aarti

Day 3

Rishikesh - Sonprayag

  • Wake up at 5 am

  • We’ll be Leaving Rishikesh by 6 am Sharp

  • Travel will be in a TT (Tempo Traveller)

  • Beautiful Journey Through the Foothills of the Garhwal Himalayas

  • Visit Devprayag Visit temple in Guptkashi

  • Reach Sonprayag by Evening 6 pm

Day 4

Sonprayag - Gaurikund - Kedarnath

  • Wake up Early

  • Jeep to Gaurikund (Self-sponsored costs approx 100/-)

  • Start the 16km Trek to Kedranth by 8 am (You can hire a pony also which is self-sponsored)

  • Reach Kedarnath by 3 pm - Freshen up, Take a Power Nap and Assemble near the Temple for the Aarthi

  • Overnight Stay at Kedarnath Stay will be in a guest house or ashram (Good comfortable stay)

Day 5

Kedarnath - Sonprayag - Chopta

  • Wake up early and go for a trek around the Kedarnath Valley

  • Mesmerizing views of Mt.Kedarnath & The Glacier

  • A grand pooja at the temple By 9 am - Start the Trek back to Gaurikund by 11 am

  • Reach Gaurikund by 5 pm

  • We’ll now be Traveling to Chopta(5 hrs) Overnight stay in Chopta

Day 6

Chopta - Tungnath - Chandrashila - Rishikesh

  • Wake up at 5 am

  • Breakfast followed by a Trek to Tungnath Temple (The highest Shiva Temple in the world)

  • Those who are interested can Continue the Trek to Chandrashila Peak.

  • Amazing Views of All the Big Mountains of the Kedarnath & ChauKamba Region

  • Trek Back to Chopta by 3 pm - Travel to Rishikesh for the Overnight Stay Reach Rishikesh by 12 am

Day 7

Rishikesh - Delhi

  • Rest Day at Rishikesh

  • You’re free to Explore the town You can also go bungee jumping (self-sponsored)

  • Volvo Bus to Delhi at (8 pm)
